Save Shasta Forest is a not-for-profit organization interested in the preservation of a small community located on the outskirts of McCloud California. The 3½ square mile subdivision is situated within the Shasta-Trinity National Forest just southeast of the town of Mount Shasta.
The subdivision was formed in 1967 with 790 lots. The community is totally off the grid and sustains themselves independently by solar, wind turbines and generators.
The community has a strong interest in the preservation of wildlife, streams, and the forest itself.
